Rise Up, Daughter! You Have Power and Authority!

Writer: Winell WilmoteWinell Wilmote

Do you know who you are and what you carry as a daughter of the Most High? You are not regular—you have power and authority.

Luke 10:19 declares:"Listen carefully: I have given you authority [that you now possess] to tread on serpents and scorpions, and [the ability to exercise authority] over all the power of the enemy (Satan); and nothing will [in any way] harm you." (AMP)

This scripture reminds us that God has already equipped us with the authority to overcome the enemy. But here’s the challenge: we cannot use what we don’t know we have or don’t know how to use.

To walk fully in this authority, there are four critical truths you must understand:

  1. Know Who You Are (IDENTITY)Your identity is rooted in Christ. You are a daughter of the King, fearfully and wonderfully made. When you know who you are, you won’t allow the enemy to rob you of your confidence.

  2. Know What Power You Have (AUTHORITY) God has given you authority over all the power of the enemy. That means you don’t have to live in fear or defeat. You carry divine power to overcome obstacles, rebuke attacks, and claim victory in Jesus’ name.

  3. Know What Belongs to You (POSSESSION) As a child of God, you have access to His promises. Peace, joy, protection, provision, and victory are yours. You must know what belongs to you to boldly claim and walk in it.

  4. Know How to Steward It Well (MANAGEMENT) Power and authority come with responsibility. Steward your gifts wisely through prayer, obedience, and discernment. Use them to build God’s Kingdom and glorify His name.

When you embrace these truths, you begin to live as the overcomer God has called you to be.

Reflection

  • How often do you live as if you’re ordinary, forgetting that you are a Kingdom Driven woman, His Daughter?

  • Life’s challenges may make you feel powerless, but as a Kingdom woman, you are far from powerless. Take a moment to reflect on how you see yourself. Are you walking in the identity and authority God has given you?

  • The enemy’s greatest strategy is to make us forget who we are. But when we remember our identity in Christ, we can rise above every challenge. What are somethings you are going to commit to, in order to remember who you are?

Daughter, it’s time to rise up. You are not just a bystander in life; you are a warrior, a victor, and a light in the darkness. It’s okay if you’re still learning to walk in this truth—God is still working on all of us. What’s important is that you take the first step: know who you are, embrace the power you’ve been given, and steward it well. Remember, the battles you face today are temporary. Stand firm, claim His promises, and walk boldly in His power.

Scriptures

  • “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

    2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV

  • "Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you." — Luke 10:19 ESV

  • "No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me, says the Lord." — Isaiah 54:17 NKJV

  • "But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light." — 1 Peter 2:9 ESV

Final Encouragement

God has called you to walk in power and authority. The world is waiting for you to rise up, speak out, and live boldly in the truth of who you are. You are His daughter, equipped to overcome, built to persevere, and created to shine.

Rise up, Daughter. It’s time to take your place!
